Apple Watch Ultra 3 might not bring any major upgrades over its predecessor reveals supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via Macrumors). The Watch Ultra is a top-of-the-line smartwatch from Apple. It incorporates a rugged look with high specifications including a larger display and large battery life.

Kuo says this year’s Watch Ultra smartwatch will get an update but may not bring any major upgrades compared to the Watch Ultra 2. However, Kuo revealed no new specifications about the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3 model.

Apple unveiled Watch Ultra 2 in September last year. Under the hood, the watch uses all-new Apple silicon to provide system-wide improvement, double-tap gestures, and improved security. The chip consists of 4-core neural engine that can perform smart machine learning tasks faster than the first-gen model.

The double-tap gesture enables the user to perform certain actions on the watch without touching the display. With this capability, you can stop a timer, control music playback, or snooze an alarm. It can be used to answer/cancel a phone call or take a photograph with a camera remote on the Apple Watch.

The watch equips a brighter display with advanced display architecture ranging in brightness from 2 to 3000 nits. It makes the display 50 percent brighter than the previous model and provides better visibility in broad daylight.

The sheer size of the Watch Ultra 2 lets users see many activities in one watch face. Apple says this watch could swim up to 40 meters deep. The watch comes with a pre-installed Depth app which saves a log for each dive session or view the history of all dives with a GPS entry point in the Fitness app on iPhone.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 also offers an on-device Sir voice assistant with in-built features. It means that the assistant can execute tasks that don’t rely on the internet for quicker responses.

Its new S9 SiP comes with a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip to enable Precision Finding for the iPhone 15 series, which equips the same chipset. This piece of tech provides distance and direction including visual, haptic, and audio guidance to a misplaced iPhone.
