Rivian is conducting R2 configuration option survey

Published

Rivian R2 midsized electric SUV is open for reservation and people who reserved this new vehicle are getting a survey to know more about a customer’s preferred R2 configuration.

Rivian unveiled R2 in March at a $45,000 price point, a key highlight of the vehicle among the new tweaks. The company aims to deliver an efficient vehicle and catch a full Federal tax credit with this entry price. Looks-wise, it is similar to the Rivian R1S and brings minimalistic optimizations and sheer size reduction.

However, Rivian refrained from releasing the final configuration and trim prices. Rivian R2 will start deliveries in the first half of 2026.

“As a future Rivian owner, your input is important to us. Please take this short survey so that we can learn a little bit more about you and your preferences. Your opinion will help us prioritize new features for current and future Rivian vehicles” describes the survey email for R2 customers (shared on Reddit).

This survey could take up to 10 minutes and participants could exit by closing the survey window and resume anytime where they left off any time. As participants progress in the survey, it shows different configurations and lets users select according to their preferences.

Here’s a breakdown of some of these Rivian R2 configurations shown in the survey:

You should know that none of these trims are officially announced in the R2 reservation configurator. The prices and specifications may be only for testing and survey purposes.

Among the ones shown above, dual and single motor makes the most sense for most customers based on the price point. Still, we need to wait for an official announcement on all trims.
