Electric vehicle (EV) company Rivian has announced that it will open its Adventure Network, an EV charging chain for Rivian vehicles, to other EVs.

Rivian Adventure Network for DC fast chargers is built for Rivian vehicles. It has an easy pull and plug-in system with a CCS port. The company has installed more than 3,500 chargers at 600 sites across the US and Canada.

R1 vehicle owners can find these charging locations via the Rivian mobile app and directly from the in-vehicle touchscreen. The company said it will begin opening the charging network later this year. However, it has not been announced which car companies.

Last year, Rivian announced an agreement with Tesla to adopt an NACS charging port. The company has also located NACS port in its upcoming R2 and R3 series vehicles. It has launched a free NACS adapter for R1s and R1T vehicles, which has started to rollout.

In addition to opening its charging network, Rivian has planned to introduce new chargers with tap-to-pay features and the ability for fast charging on a variety of voltages.

“Powered by 100% renewable energy, the Rivian Adventure Network supports our goals of electrifying our transportation system and transitioning our power grid to carbon-free energy sources, all while encouraging more people to embark on their next adventure in an EV.” wrote Rivian on social media site X.
