Ford Pro has introduced a new extended-range E-Transit electric van powered by an 89 kWh usable battery capacity for maximum driving range. The new battery could provide up to 402 kilometers of driving range, 28 percent more than a standard range model. The new range makes it stand among the top options for an electric commercial vehicle.

This Ford van equips a vapor-injected heat pump as standard to heat the cabin in low temperatures. It works similarly to the E-Transit custom and improves energy efficiency with an optimized range.

The charging has also been improved with a maximum AC input from 11 kW to 22 kW charging capability. This speed enables the van to charge overnight in under six hours. In addition, DC fast charging is also increased from 115 kW to 180 kW to charge 116 km driving range in 10 minutes. The van’s 80 percent capacity could be filled in 28 minutes at the fastest.

This electric van will bring Ford Pro’s solution for depot, home, and public charging including hardware installation and maintenance.

Ford Pro telematics software enables fleet managers to track charging performance and energy efficiency for each vehicle. It could set charging windows to achieve cheaper energy tariffs and unauthorized access prevention with lock chargers. Ford Pro Telematics dashboards and insights are compatible with mixed fleets including electric, plug-in hybrid, and combustion-powered vehicles as well as non-Ford models.

The extended E-Transit electric van comes in 19 model variants including L3 and L4 lengths, van, double-cab-in-van, and single chassis cab body styles ranging from 3,500 kg to 4,250 kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM). It offers a maximum payload of up to 1,460 kg for vans and 1,814 kg for chassis cab variants with towing capacity of up to 750 kg for models with 3,500 kg GVM.

Ford Pro also powers 2.3 kW of sharable power from the vehicle battery to run tools, equipment, and conversions. Extended range E-Transit also brings new productivity features including including 5G modem, wireless software update, vehicle integration system, Alexa AI, and delivery assist technology.
