Coca-Cola and Microsoft sign $1.1 billion deal for Cloud and Generative AI
Coca-Cola and Microsoft have signed a $1.1 billion commitment to the Microsoft cloud and generative AI technologies. This collaboration will enable Microsoft’s offerings systemwide to improve Coca-Cola’s workforce and productivity.
Both partners will conduct joint experiments with new technologies including Azure OpenAI service to develop generative AI for various businesses. The beverage company is also testing Copilot for Microsoft 365 to improve workplace productivity.
This new agreement is a follow-up to the agreement of $250 million signed in 2020 to standardize business operations with Microsoft’s cloud. It will advance Coca-Cola’s transformation in the digital world with Microsoft’s solutions including Microsoft 365, Power BI, Dynamics 365, Defender, and Fabric.
The company has migrated all applications to Microsoft Azure and uses AI technologies to improve customer experience, in-house experience, and growth opportunities.
“We are proud to support Coca-Cola as it continues to embrace the era of AI and looks to solutions like Azure OpenAI Service and Copilot for Microsoft 365 to drive innovation across every area of its business,” said Judson Althoff, executive vice president, and chief commercial officer at Microsoft.
