Tesla France has brought a €3,000 price drop for the Upgraded Model 3. This move comes amid the company is making changes in its car prices around the globe to win EV sales.

Like other markets, the electric vehicle (EV) company has listed two models of this car in France including the RWD and Long Range.

This response is also in effect since the government lowered goals for EV subsidies. In February, France announced a 20 percent subsidy reduction for high-income EV buyers.

This change will reduce the subsidy to €4,000 for highest-income car buyers. Meanwhile, the government intends to keep the €7,000 subsidy open for low-income buyers.

Analysts believes that the new EV subsidy rules may discourage high-income buyers as they may not go for the top-end models available for purchase.

The French government initially planned to subsidies up to 25,000 European-built EVs by this year but reconsidered the number after a boom in EV demand.

On the other hand, the lease program is also halted until 2025. The program enabled customers to lease new EVs for up to €100 to €150 a month starting January 2024. This program was opened for people with an annual income of less than €15,400.

This is another instance of how the French government adjusted plans to support EV sales in the country. There’s no announcement made to address current concerns about the subsidy program.
