Tesla has officially announced that its current referral program benefits are ending after April 30 in all markets including the U.S. But there’s good news shared by Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, who said a new referral program will launch soon.

This referral program enables you to earn exclusive benefits by purchasing your first Tesla product, referring buying links to other first-time buyers, and continuing to purchase qualifying products from the company.

Here are some details about Tesla’s existing referral program.

Buyer Benefits: You can earn buyer benefits while purchasing your first Tesla product. The buyer needs to use a valid referral link to order the Tesla product.

Referral Credits:

An existing Tesla owner can earn referral credits by sharing a referral link with a friend or family member to buy a new Tesla product or book a demo drive. A buyer must purchase a qualifying Tesla product through a valid referral link. The referral program requires buyers to purchase Tesla products using the referred link.

A similar stipulation applies to the demo drive and it should be the first demo drive for the referral link user for the first person to earn referral credits. If anyone purchases a Tesla vehicle or qualified product and books a demo drive, the credit will show “Pending” status.

The credits will appear in your account after the Grant Date. This is the date when a Tesla vehicle is delivered, an energy product is activated or a demo drive is completed. You can continue to earn loyalty benefits by purchasing additional qualifying Tesla products using the same Tesla account.

New Program

The Tesla chief has not shared any specific change that will drive through the new referral program but mentioned that it may take a few months.

However, Musk does clarify one question on earned credits. He said the announcement would affect earning new credits, which will stop temporarily after April 30. This will be resumed when the new program is launched.
