General Motor (GM) EV sales decline in the first quarter 2024

General Motors (GM) has published its sales results for the first quarter of 2024. The company sold 16,425 electric vehicles in the first quarter which is a decline compared to the same quarter last year.

The EV model sales from the car group are the following:

  • Chevrolet Bolt EV sold 7,040 units
  • Cadillac LYRIQ sold 5,800 units
  • Hummer EV sold 1,668 units
  • Chevrolet Silverado EV sold 1,061 units
  • Chevrolet Blazer EV sold 600 units
  • BrightDrop recorded 256 units

GM says its Chevrolet Equinox EV with 300 miles of EPA range will begin shipments to dealers in the first half of this year. Chevrolet’s Blazer EV also returned to sales after fixing many software and hardware bugs.

The first Chevrolet Silverado EV for retail customers may begin deliveries in the next few months. The carmaker confirmed its EVs are eligible for a $7,500 Federal EV tax credit.

Overall, GM delivered 594,233 vehicles in the U.S. in the first quarter with a 1.5 percent year-over-year decline. The automaker says it is seeing the sales improvement of the new Ultium Platform EV production with Cadillac LYRIQ.
