Tesla adds a $1000 price increase for Model Y
Tesla started April with a $1000 price increase on Model Y in the U.S. While the company also improved the amount of this model in China.
Tesla Model Y Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) is now priced at $44,990 (from $43,990). The Long Range version is priced at $49,990 (from $48,990) and the Performance version is priced at $53,490 (from $52,990). Tesla made this new price adjustment after announcing it formally last month on X, formerly known as Twitter.
These three models are eligible for a $7,500 Federal tax credit and reduce the purchase price to the following:
- $37,490 for RWD variant
- $42,490 for Long Range
- $45,990 for Performance
The tax credit is now applied at the time of the delivery.
China
The EV maker has made similar changes in Model Y’s price in China by adding 5,000 yuan ($690) according to its website.
The price of the RWD model now starts at 263,900 yuan (from 258,900 yuan).
The Model Y Long Range is priced at 304,900 yuan (from 299,900 yuan) and the Performance version is priced at 368,900 yuan (from 363,900 yuan) (via Cnevpost).
