Tesla Canada starts FSD Beta version 12 rollout
Update: It is confirmed that this version contains FSD v12.3.1 and not the version 11. However, the rollout is still limited to some Tesla users.

After months of testing in the U.S. FSD Beta version 12 is apparently making its way to Tesla cars in Canada with a new software update.
According to the changelog shared by Tesla users on X (formerly known as Twitter), the firmware versions 2023.44.30 and 2023.44.30.30 rolling over the air.
However, the release notes show FSD Beta version 11.4.9. It’s certainly not version 12 but the same software version is carrying FSD v12.3.1 in the U.S. This is creating a bit of confusion in the changelog.
Prominent Tesla software tracker @teslascope also responds to this new rollout and calls it legitimate but there’s no confirmation about the FSD version at the moment.
Full Self-Driving (Beta) V12.3.1 is now going out to vehicles in Canada for the first time. 🎉
Additional testing prevented V12.3 from going out to vehicles in Canada, which has now been finalized. https://t.co/RB0amqNJUf

Regulators:
Different countries have their own rules and regulations for transport and traffic which need to be fulfilled by automakers before launching new cars or services. That includes autonomous driving technology and FSD is no different.
Rohan Patel, Senior VP of Tesla Policy responded on this matter saying that the EV maker is continuously engaging with Transport Canada, the body responsible for transportation policies and programs.
“We have been doing a lot of educational efforts with Transport Canada and many other regulatory bodies on our supervised FSD system. In general, regulators seem quite impressed” Patel explained the ongoing conversation with local regulators about the FSD system.
In his previous post, Patel emphasized Tesla’s strategy to release new services in Canada alongside the U.S. However the company regulatory approval is still mandatory before launching any new products which also vary in approval time.
We’ll wait for more information about the rollout of the new FSD version 12 in Canada as Tesla owner feedback continues to arrive.
