Tesla Model 3 Performance (Ludicrous) UI leak shows dynamics
A new user interface (UI) leak of the 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance (Ludicrous) has brought us the first look at its dynamics settings. An X user @nintleee has shared a video clip (Update: Removed) recorded from the upcoming Tesla Model 3 Performance version.
The clip shows the front display of the car including the software detail. It confirms that the car is the new Model 3 and it has the “Ludicrous” logo reflecting the speed performance.
The model is running FSD v11.1 which is quite old compared to the v12 series. However, this might be a test unit with a public version of the FSD software.
Next comes dynamics. This part of the settings has “Acceleration” modes – Chill, Sport, and Insane. There’s no mention of the “Ludicrous” mode for the time being.
According to Tesla, the chill mode focuses on a smooth and gentle ride. Sports mode provides normal acceleration for all-wheel drive (AWD). The Insane mode improves peak torque by approximately 30 percent.
There are three other acceleration modes described by Tesla on its website:
- Ludicrous
- Insane+
- Ludicrous+
The first takes the peak torque to 60 percent. The second increases 30 percent torque and heats the battery to its ideal operating temperature to access 100% of available power.
Ludicrous is the same as Insane+ mode for AWD models with Ludicrous upgrade.
Ride and handling settings of the 2024 Tesla Model 3 have Standard and sport modes and the Steering modes are comfort, standard, and sport.
The UI also shows “Auto Shift out of Park”. The feature was also available in Cybertruck and the 2024 Tesla Model 3. It automatically shifts to D or R when the doors are closed, the seatbelt is buckled and the brake is pressed. There is also a toggle to shift between forward and reverse.
The Autoshift feature is currently in beta mode.
