E-Cite EV-C3 electric gets NHTSA approval for public roads in the U.S.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has approved E-Cite Motors to launch its EV-C3 electric and IC-C3 gas-powered vehicles for public roads in the U.S.

Based in Bothell, Washington, E-Cite Motor is a publically traded company that develops electric vehicles (EVs) with new technologies and iconic auto designs.

The company’s C3 series was previously submitted for registration with NHTSA in accordance with 49 CFR Part 586 to be legally driven on public roads across the U.S.

E-Cite says the new sports cars utilize more than 90 percent of the existing engineered electric “EV-GT” and gas-powered “IC-GT” sports cars. These are awaiting final approval from CARB.

Some of these features are components with optimized modular chassis, batteries, drive train, suspension, glass, and more than 50 percent of the body panels.

E-Cite is free to manufacture its EV-GT, EV-RT, and EV-222 hypercar under a special exemption specifically (49 CFR 565.16(b)).

The car company is also allowed to produce its VINs for new vehicle production. Furthermore, it has received World Manufacturer Identified (WMI) under Active registration as a manufacturer for vehicle sales worldwide.

“To be approved to now manufacture a fully modernized version of America’s Sportscar and share it with the world alongside the finest vehicles of all time is a privilege,” said E-Cite Motors CEO Barry Hentorn.
