Skoda could launch $27k small electric SUV this week

Automaker Skoda is preparing to launch an entry-level electric SUV this week to compete in the low-priced car segment at around €25,000 ($27,282).

Autocar reports that the company will show a new concept car at its annual press conference on Friday, March 15 and this could be an anticipated vehicle that was previewed before.

The new vehicle would bring a new design scheme in a compact form factor but it could equip a stylish front. Previous specifications of the car suggest that it will offer 460 liters of boot space identical to the Skoda Scala family hatchback.

Volkswagen ID 2all concept previous shared teaser of a new option with similar technical specifications. Volkswagen may launch this new car in two battery sizes 38kWh and 56kWh with up to 280 miles of range.

For now, Skoda has not announced the name and price of the new model but it could start at €25,000 (£21,300).
