North Ireland welcomes 11 new 350kW EV chargers

Ionity has installed 11 new 350kW ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers in west Belfast which is the first of its kind in Northern Ireland.

Headquartered in Germany, Ionity is a joint venture between top automakers including BMW, Ford, Volkswagen, and Mercedes-Benz. The company has invested 3 million GBP for two sites with plans to expand across the north.

The company opened its first high-power charging (HPC) station last month next to the A6 at Toome including six 350kW HPC chargers. Ionity says that both of these Ionity charging sites are using 100 percent renewable energy.

Andreas Atkins, Country Manager of the UK and Ireland said that Ionity is building new charging infrastructure in the UK and Europe to support growing EV users.
