Tesla Cybertruck will get new off-roading feature OTA update
Tesla today confirmed that it is preparing a host of new off-roading features for the electric pickup truck Cybertruck that will rollout with an over-the-air (OTA) update.
Wes Morrill, Cybertruck’s lead engineer wrote on social media site X “We’ve been sharpening the pencil for Off-Road controls and that will come to the fleet in an OTA update.”
The latest response from Morrill came on Cybertruck’s clip from Hell’s Revenge Trailhead in Utah. The clip shows the off-roading capability of this all-stainless steel vehicle.
Hell’s Revenge trail is approximately 6.5 miles in length. With its hazardous terrain, it attracts offroaders and experienced drivers. The terrain recommends drivers stay on designated roads and trails.
The truck in the climbing video was a tri-motor version, known as Cyberbeast, operating in easy mode. This model has 130 top speed, 320 miles driving range, 845 horsepower, 10,296 LB-FT torque, and 11,000 LBS towing capacity.

At the end of the video, the company showed two all-wheel drive versions (AWD) with dual-motor systems already standing on top. Off-roading features for such vehicles could enhance the driving experience and help users to focus on off-roading instead of painting controls.
For now, the Tesla official has not confirmed an OTA update rollout date or the off-roading features controls for the Cybertruck.
