Apple is working on 20.3-inch foldable MacBook says Analyst
The foldable saga of Apple continues to see new changes and its latest one has uncovered the secret development of a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said on Wednesday that the company has only one plan to launch a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook product that could enter mass production in 2027.
Not a phone?
Apple in the past has been rumored to launch a foldable phone with Galaxy Z Fold form factor. Some media reports indicated that the company is also working on a flip-type foldable device similar to the Galaxy Z Flip.
Meanwhile, rumors also stacked that the company could also replace its iPad lineup with the new foldable segment.
So, there have been enough rumors and leaks about Apple’s foldable phone development but none of them have come true.
Foldable:
This new technology has been maturing for the past five years but it is still far from being perfect compared to the flat screen devices. Although the strength of the glass has been improved but it’s still fragile and cannot withstand informal use cases.
Another important part of the foldable phones or devices stands as the hinge system. Similar to the display, this component has its downsides but its smoothness has been increased.
New inputs suggest that Apple is continuously testing foldable display panels from Samsung but the company is not meeting them according to its development standard.
It is also fetching hinge mechanisms from Taiwanese suppliers but all of these plans remain inconsistent.
The future of the foldable market is bright and Apple may not want to leave this segment untapped. Therefore, the preparation for a distant launch could be a better move.
