Rivian R2 is launching next week and the company has shared another teaser with a few indications about this upcoming vehicle.

Each of the past teaser clips consists of some hidden details about R2, like the one published recently consisting of a taillight and a RIVIAN branding underneath. Similarly, a teaser published on February 28 has a slight view of the car’s side which is identical to the R1s. The teaser shows the vehicle’s shadow with a full-size SUV design.

One of the initial teasers of the car confirmed Rivian’s distinct headlight design including a continuous LED light bar that stretches across the full width of the front connecting two headlights with a stadium shape. The front hosts two projector lights, one for low and the other for high beams.

Federal Tax Credit

CEO RJ Scaringe said in a previous interview that the new Rivian vehicle will bring reduced MSRP to expand the reach of Rivian vehicles among customers. The existing R1T and R1s models start at $69,900 and $78,000 respectively in the U.S. but the price of the new model remains unknown.

Scaringe also mentioned that the Rivian R2 will qualify for the full $7,500 Federal tax credit during the time of the delivery. The Rivian R1T and R1S on the other hand are only eligible for a $3,750 tax credit.

The production of the Rivian R2 is entirely focused on the federal tax qualification and the company is confident that it will bring this price benefit for the customers.
