Tesla CEO, Elon Musk confirmed today that his team is working on a new Tesla Roadster model and it could release as early as next year.

This is a major announcement made by the Tesla chief as this electric car will turn 17 in 2025 if the model makes it out on time.

The coupe was unveiled in 2008 but the company started working on the prototype in 2006. Throughout the years, Tesla has made several new improvements to its design and performance to make it stand out in the competition.

“Tonight, we radically increased the design goals for the new Tesla Roadster. There will never be another car like this if you could even call it a car” said Musk on Wednesday.

The design of the car has not been revealed but it would be designed by Franz von Holzhausen, Tesla’s chief designer. He worked on the complicated dimensions of Tesla Cybertruck and other Tesla vehicles.

Musk said that the production design is ready and could be unveiled by late 2025 and affirmed that the car could hit the ship in the same year.

“I think it has a shot at being the most mind-blowing product demo of all time,” He wrote about the vehicle’s demonstration.

Speed:

Other aspects of Musk’s revelation about the Roadster suggest that this car will further increase its performance. While being asked about the speed, Musk replied that this sports car could go 0-60 mph in less than 1 second.

But there’s more about the speed that you should know.

Musk recalled that the new Tesla Roadster would exceed all gas sports cars in every way and mentioned this new car would be a Tesla/SpaceX collaboration.

There are no further details available but it may mean that the 2025 Tesla Roadster could get Falcon 9-like speed acceleration except for flying.

I guess, there’s more that we’ll see as we approach the new Roadster.
