Honda reveals 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle

Honda on Tuesday revealed the 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV, the first production plug-in hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle for the U.S.

CR-V e:FCEV is built at Honda’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio. The company says it is the first fuel-cell electric passenger vehicle made in America.

It is a 5-passenger CUV and it is the first release of the second-gen Honda Fuel Cell Module produced at Michigan’s Fuel Cell System Manufacturing, LLC.

This new model equips standard features including 10.2-inch digital instrumentation, 9-inch HD touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

It also equips wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, power-adjustable heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, hands-free access power tailgate.

Furthermore, the car features parking sensors and sustainable materials including bio-based leather seat upholstery.

Dynamics:

The 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV brings a front-mounted single-motor that produces 174 horsepower and 229 lb.-ft. of torque. The carmaker says that the rear lateral rigidity is increased by 10 percent and improved by 9 percent more rear torsional rigidity.

Specs:

The fuel cell module has an estimated power output of 92.2kW and 270 miles driving range with hydrogen fuel. It equips battery capacity of 17.7 kwH with plug-in level 2 charging capability to charge 29 miles of EPA EV range.

It has an 18-inch wheel size and a 235/60R18 tire size. The wheelbase is 106.3-inches, length 187.6-inches, height is 66.6-inches and width is 73.4-inches.

Availability:

There’s no availability date announced at the moment but it could be in the market next year.
