SpaceX schedules 24 Starlink satellites launch on February 24, 2024

SpaceX space launch service and exploration firm will launch 24 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit on February 24, 2024, from Florida.

The mission aims to boost the number of satellite constellations and improve connectivity for customers across the globe. SpaceX could increase the number of launches this year compared to 2023.

The first stage for this mission will complete its 13th flight and previously supported CES-24, Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13F, OneWeb 1, SES-18, SES-19, and eight Starlink launches.

Falcon 9 is 70 meters tall, and 3.7 meters wide and it can carry 22,800 kilograms of payload. Its first stage comprises nine Merlin engines that generate more than 1.7 million pounds of thrust at sea level to uplift the rocket.

After stage separation, the booster will land back on a droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

This launch vehicle will liftoff from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The first window for the flight will open at 4:59 p.m. ET and a back window is available at 8:57 p.m. ET. A day is reserved on Sunday, February 25, at 4:34 p.m. ET.

Previous launch

Yesterday, SpaceX sent a batch of 22 Starlink satellites from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The upcoming Falcon 9 mission will be the 18th overall SpaceX flight for this year.
