Apple today stopped signing new builds for iOS 17.3 software which means that the users who’ve installed iOS 17.3.1 can no longer downgrade to a recent version.

iOS 17.3 was a major security feature release and added stolen device protection to iPhones. Although it wasn’t the only capability but it was the most highlighted due to its importance.

More addition in this software package includes Security Delay which requires Face ID or Touch ID to verify the user authentication even if someone accesses your passcode to alter some important user data and financial details.

iOS 17.3.1 on the other hand brings fixes for iPhones including one in the text which may unexpectedly duplicate or overlap while typing.

The process to stop signing new builds is quite common in Apple’s software rollout ecosystem. Through this, the company allows people to stay on the latest build with updated features.
