SpaceX could fly 3rd Starship this month

SpaceX could fly its 3rd Starship integrated flight by this month if not delayed to the next, suggests CEO Elon Musk as preparations are underway.

In a conversation on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Musk said that the next Starship could launch in around 3 weeks. This time is relevant to a past report that predicted the liftoff in February.

Last week, SpaceX moved a new super-heavy booster rocket and Starship spacecraft to the Starbase. Video coming from NASASpaceflight revealed that SpaceX is testing stacking and de-stacking of Starship and the super heavy booster.

Ahead of this flight, SpaceX will require FAA approval to commence the flight test. The second and most recent flight test was conducted on November 18, 2023.

It’s about 3 months now and that may be sufficient for the aviation department to conclude its inspection for the next Starship launch.

Compared to the first and second test flights, the third shot will aim to achieve orbit. SpaceX chief said last month that his company possibly found a way to send Starship to orbit with 3rd mission.
