LG brings EV charging solutions business in Canada

LG Electronics today announced its electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions business in Canada. With this expansion, LG will offer EV charging solutions for charge point operators and commercial property owners.

The South Korean electronics company will produce Level 2 chargers at its recent EV charger facility in Fort Worth, Texas. LG said that its move aims to support Canada’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions with a shift towards EVs.

It mentioned in a statement that it has already started assembling advanced Level 2 11 kW chargers at its Texas factory and 175 kW fast chargers are planned for the first half of this year.

The U.S. production factory will have an annual capacity of more than 10,000 units. The overall facility area is 100,000 square feet and it has future expansion possibilities for production lines.

The company also has plans to expand its current charger offerings with the launch of a Level 3 350kW ultra-fast charger in 2024. These new options will cover commercial and long-distance vehicles.

LG has new customizable EV chargers that Hotels, restaurants, transit hubs, shopping centers, multi-residential and commercial buildings, and other locations can set custom rates and meet local demand.
