Rivian adds Standard and Standard+ battery models for R1T and R1S
Rivian today launched two new battery models for Rivian R1T electric truck and R1S SUV as Standard and Standard+.
The standard variant will come with a dual motor and a 270-mile range using a 106-kilowatt-hour battery package. The Standard+ on the other hand has a 121 kWh battery pack with 315 miles of EPA range.
As previously, Rivian offers two-battery options:
- Large
- Max
The Large package has a 135 kWh battery pack with a total 351 miles EPA range on both R1T and R1S. The Max version boasts 410 miles and 400 miles EPA range for R1T and R1S respectively. The Max model is available on the configurator with a dual motor and 149 kWh battery.
Talking about the price The R1T Dual Motor Standard version is priced at $69,900, and the R1T Dual Motor Standard+ version has a price tag of $73,000. R1T Performance Dual Motor Standard+ is priced at $78,000.
R1S Dual Motor Standard version is priced at $74,900, the Standard+ version comes at $78,800 and Performance Standard+ at $83,000.
The latest change comes amid the automaker is preparing to introduce its new Rivian R2 vehicle on March 7. This new EV will be a “price point” and smaller than the other two Rivian vehicles.
Rivian CEO, RJ Scaringe said in a recent interview that Rivian R2 will get a full $7,500 Federal tax credit when it starts to deliver.
