Tesla launches FSD transfers for Model 3, S, X, Y
Tesla has once against opened Full Self Driving (FSD) beta transfers on new vehicles purchased before April 1st. Customers of the new Tesla Model S, Model X, Model Y, and new Model 3 are eligible to grab this new offer in the U.S. Mexico, and Canada.
FSD is an unter-testing autopilot technology for Tesla vehicles. It is a combination of ADAS features such as traffic lights, lane changing, and more for autosteering in different scenarios but requires the driver’s attention. Hence, It’s not a fully autonomous driving feature.
Under the offer, customers can transfer their FSD capability to a new Tesla model delivered between February 4, 2024, and March 31, 2024. The offer requires the customer to forfeit FSD on their existing Tesla vehicle.
Eligibility:
Program participants need to be legal and registered owners of a Tesla vehicle that currently has FSD purchased outright at the time of delivery of their new Tesla vehicle and at least 48 hours after.
The vehicle cannot be the subject of a pending cancellation request or have any delinquent liens or balances. Commercial, operational leases, third-party leases, and used vehicles aren’t eligible for this program.
How does the forfeit work?
Tesla confirmed it will remove the FSD from your current Tesla vehicle within 48 hours after delivery of your new vehicle. During this process, your vehicle forfeiting FSD capability will automatically reboot for a few minutes after being put in park.
Then the FSD will be transferred to your new Tesla vehicle within a week of the delivery. Therefore, the vehicle may remain incapable of using FSD during that time.
Terms and conditions:
The customer cannot reverse the forfeit once accepted on the new vehicle. It includes conditions “that the new vehicle is deemed a total loss or you cancel or reverse the purchase of your new vehicle after delivery”. As such, you will have to purchase a new FSD subscription for the vehicle.
This offer is not redeemable for cash and cannot be transferred to another person or vehicle. Tesla said it could remove FSD from your vehicle if it found any breach of its terms.
