Canoo will supply EVs to USPS alongside Ford

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will buy six electric vehicles (EVs) from Canoo Mobility firm. This information comes after USPS also confirmed a purchase of Ford EVs to increase its postal delivery fleet.

Canoo confirmed that these 6 EVs with right-hand drive versions will be delivered in the first quarter of this year.

“The multi-purpose platform with steer-by-wire technology and a unique low-profile suspension system allows for a readily configurable right-hand drive system while maintaining desired roll and ride stability,” said Tony Aquila, Investor, Executive Chairman, and CEO of Canoo.

On January 22, 2024, USPS unveiled the first set of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and EVs for its delivery center. The U.S. Post Service will install 14,000 EV chargers manufactured by three suppliers – Siemens, Rexel/ChargePoint, and Blink.

USPS planned to buy a total of 21,000 EVs including 9,250 from Ford and there are 45,000 next-generation delivery vehicles planned by 2028.
