Taiwanese EV battery maker to enter mass production in France in 2027
Taiwanese electric vehicle (EV) battery maker ProLogium is expecting to start mass production at its France factory by 2027.
The latest production information is coming directly coming from CEO Vincent Yang, who said that the company could start mass production at ProLogium’s France facility in 2027 “if everything goes smoothly”.
Last year, the battery maker announced 5.2 billion euros ($5.6 billion) to build its first large-scale solid-state battery facility in the northern region of Dunkirk and the first outside of Taiwan.
The plant will improve supply chain localization, improve research and development, and manufacture next-gen batteries in Europe. It aims to set up 48 GWh capacity.
ProLogium has become the latest battery manufacturer to partner with top automaker Mercedes-Benz for future EV releases, which is supporting heavily this Taiwanese company.
Earlier today, the Taiwanese company opened the first giga-level solid-state lithium ceramic battery factory in Taiwan. The event was attended by the French ambassador to Taiwan, Franck Paris.
“I want to thank ProLogium for choosing France to expand their production line and extend my gratitude to everyone who played a role in making this project happen. The French government will provide full support to ProLogium. Today’s grand opening is significant not just about business but also represents the potential of Taiwan-France cooperation and our role as leaders in the global green economy.” said Frank.
