Tesla FSD Beta V12.1.2

Earlier today Tesla started to rollout FSD Beta V12.1.2 for beta testers and the first impressions of this new autosteering software release have now appeared to give us an insight into the changes in user experience.

Tesla enthusiast Whole Mars Catalog has shared the initial experience after installing FSD Beta v12.1.2. FYI, the Tesla car was roaming through the rain at night in San Francisco’s Chestnut Street.

The video shows that the car has more stability in control and smoothness in Autosteer, which has been improved compared to past FSD versions.

Throughout the video, the car continues to navigate on its own in traffic, speed bumps, and turns, detecting humans, and crossings with accuracy. Eventually, the car parked on a place after reaching to the destination.

The testers added a note that the speed limitation was set to 60 and the car kept on “getting red hands forced disengagement multiple times”.

The changelog of Tesla FSD Beta V12 reveals that the software upgraded the city-streets driving stack to a single end-to-end neural network, which replaces existing manual C++ code.

It simply means that the Tesla car operations during FSD operations are no longer supervised and the car could take its own decisions based on the data and video clips recorded through the past FSD Beta versions.

For now, this version is limited to some testers and a wide release is still pending. Watch the full Tesla FSD Beta V12.1.2 impressions on the Whole Mars Catalog YouTube channel linked below.
