EV maker VinFast posts delivery jump in Q4 2023 results
VinFast electric vehicle (EV) company today shared fourth quarter (Q4) delivery results for 2023 and said that its sales figure jumped quarter on quarter (QoQ).
The Vietnamese automaker delivered 13,513 electric vehicles in Q4 2023, which is a 35% increase in QoQ compared to the past quarter in the same year.
By the end of 2023, VinFast said it delivered a total of 42,291 units of electric cars in the global market since its very first delivery in 2021. It includes the batch of 34,855 EVs in 2023.
The rise in VinFast’s sales is a big change of grabbing share in major markets including the U.S. where the company expanded its electrified offerings starting this month.
“Our 4Q23 saw a jump in vehicle deliveries compared to prior quarters. However, amid economic headwinds, slow EV adoption rate in certain regions has adversely affected deliveries plan.” said Tran Mai Hoa, VinFast’s Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing
VinFast is also building an electric vehicle manufacturing facility in North Carolina with a collective investment of $4 billion. The company last year broke ground at the manufacturing site and looking to complete the production site by 2025.
VinFast will release its 4Q 2023 financial results on February 22, 2024, before the market opens. The company management will also hold a live webcast to discuss business performance and strategy.
