These are the top 10 best-selling American EVs in 2023

In 2023, U.S. electric vehicles (EVs) gained massive progress and became the fastest-growing car sales category with 7.6% of the overall vehicles sold across all states. This growth is an increase from a 5.9% market share in 2022.

In the fourth quarter of 2023, EV market share and sales hit a record high with 52% year-over-year growth compared to the same quarter a year earlier.

Americans bought 317,168 EVs between October and December 2023 accounting an 8.1% of all cars sold in the quarter. During this quarter, the average paid price for a new EV in Q4 2023 was $50,798.

Data from Kelly Blue Book revealed that Americans recorded 1,189,051, which is supported by Federal incentives and other state-sponsored subsidies. The researcher predicts that there could be more growth in the EV market through 2024.

Tesla retains the market lead with 55% of the overall EVs sold in the U.S. in 2023. However, its growth has declined by 65% compared to 2022.

BMW accounted for 12.% of all EVs sold in the U.S. in 2023, Volkswagen 11.5%, Mercedes 11.4%, Audi 11%, Volvo 10.8%, Porsche 10%, Genesis 9.3%, Hyundai 9.3%, Cadillac 6.2%, Kia 3.8%, Ford 3.8%, Nissan 2.3%, Luxus 1.7$ and Toyota 0.5% of market share.
