Tesla Model Y price reduces up to 5,000 euros in Germany
Tesla has reduced the price of its Model Y in Germany. The latest price cut for German customers follows a slight adjustment in price for the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y in China.
Tesla has slashed 5,000 euros ($5,435) on Model Y Long Range and Model Y Performance. The new prices are 49,000 ($54,340) and 55,990 euros ($60,860) for models respectively.
The price is reduced by around 9% and 8.1% respectively from the past prices of 54,990 euros for Model Y Long Range and 60,990 euros and Model Y Performance.
Meanwhile, Model Y rear wheel drive is also discounted by 1900 euros from 44,890 euros and the new price for the RWD model is 42,990 euros.
The new price reduction also comes amid the EV seller looking to pause most of its production at Berlin’s factory for about two weeks starting January 29.
The company reportedly paused the production due to the issues in shipments of new parts through new transportation routes in the Red Sea.
Last month, Germany ended state state-sponsored subsidy program for new EV buyers. This increases burdens on the growth aspect for EV sellers in the German market.
On January 5, Tesla brought down the Model 3 sedan by 5.9% to 245,900 yuan ($34,300) and the Model Y by 2.8% to 258,000 yuan.
