Apple Vision Pro will be available to pre-order on January 19 in the U.S. and its first sale is set for February 2. Meanwhile, Apple could arrange a Vision Pro launch for global customers around the next developer conference.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple could share more details about the visionOS operating system with global developers at its annual WWDC 2024 conference.

visionOS is based on iOS core frameworks including UIKit, SwiftUI, and ARKit, and MR-specific frameworks for processing the virtual user interface, on-screen content, and AR/VR applications.

In terms of operations, visionOS equips a 3D user interface navigated via finger and hand gestures as well as eye tracking and speech recognition.

Kuo said that the Vision Pro launch in the non-US market before WWDC 2024 event could mark a major benefit to developing the visionOS ecosystem for global customers and developers.

Several different reasons may held the company from releasing the Vision Pro from different markets altogether. This includes limited supplies, ensuring sufficient units for U.S. customers, and may need more time to make changes based on specific markets.

Yet, Kuo didn’t say anything specific about the global launch date for the Vision Pro.

Current Preps:

Apple is organizing meetings with staff and preparing retail store chains to host the grand launch of Vision Pro, which costs $3499. This is a hefty amount for a mixed-reality headset and a brand-new Apple product for consumers.

There’s also a retail demo program specially designed for the Vision Pro device and a dedicated process for customer support to choose the best fit.

Despite this new input, Apple has not said anything about the broad availability of Vision Pro but the company would share new information as soon based on the initial customer response.
