Porsche releasing 2024 all-electric Macan on January 25

Porsche today confirmed that an all-electric vehicle will be released on January 25 and it could be the new 2024 Porsche Macan SUV.

The first Porsche Macan was released in 2014 and a facelift version was added in 2019. These two models focus on both power and design aesthetics and continue to make sales among customers.

Although, Porsche has not announced the name of this new vehicle some revelations indicate the carmaker will bring a new electric Porsche Macan on Jan. 25.

Porsche Macan 2024 EV will be based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which is designed for full or plug-in hybrids. This platform was developed by Porsche and Audi and designed to be launched with this new EV.

PPE brings several models including rear and all-wheel drive as well as already existing performance levels. The system outputs up to 450 kW and a maximum torque of over 1,000 Nm. However, these outputs and performance are likely to increase in future versions.

800-volt technology will be streamlined with next-generation Porshe Macan to provide fast charging performance. The use of synchronous electric motors (PSM) offers high power and torque densities, improved efficiency, and better reproduction of power output.

The new Porsche Macan will pack a 100kWh lithium-ion battery, which could be filled with 0-80% within 25 minutes. There could be more variants and battery capacity with other models.

Moreover, the all-electric Macan will equip ‘bank charging’ whereby corresponding high-voltage switches (gates) are automatically switched in the battery before the actual charging process begins in case a charging station uses 400-volt technology.
