iPhone 15 Pro Max to continue high sales in the first half of this year
iPhone 15 Pro Max will continue higher sales performance than the rest of the iPhone 15 series models in the first half of this year, says analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo mentioned that iPhone 15 Pro Max will still account for 40-50% of iPhone 15 shipments in 1H24. The latest forecast suggests a high demand for this top variant of the iPhone 15 series.
iPhone 15 Pro Max features a 6.7-inch OLED Retina XDR display with 2796×1290 resolution. It equips the new A17 Pro chip including 6 CPU cores, 2 performance, and 4 efficiency cores.
This top iPhone 15 model equips a 48MP main camera, a 12MP ultra wide-angle camera, and a 12MP telephoto camera. The front of the screen houses a dynamic island cutout including face ID and a 12MP selfie camera. This time, Apple also made a change in design composition with added titanium.
Supplier:
Kuo said the telephoto (periscope) camera used in the iPhone 15 Pro series is a growth maker for Largan Precision, a Taiwanese camera lens manufacturer.
The telephoto camera lens in the Pro Max model alone could boost Largan’s first half of 2024 revenue by NT$3.4-3.8 billion compared to the first half of 2023. In other words, the lens drives around 20-25% year-over-year revenue increase for Largan in the first half.
The analyst predicts that Apple will continue to increase demand for this lens through the first half. Not only that, the next generation of iPhones will also contribute to Largan’s business.
iPhone 16 Pro:
Earlier this month, Kuo said that the iPhone 16 Pro will bring a new 48MP ultra wide-angle camera. It’s an upgrade over the 12MP camera used in the iPhone 15 Pro.
Furthermore, the company will add a periscope telephoto camera in the Pro model, which is missing from the iPhone 15 Pro and remains exclusive to the 15 Pro Max.
Additionally, both of the iPhone 16 Pro models will have polished telephoto zoom performance.
