Check Sony driving AFEELA EV with a PS5 controller at CES 2024

Sony brought an interesting presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 opening day by controlling the concept electric vehicle (EV) AFEELA with a PS5 gaming controller.

Introduced last year, Afeela is the first EV brand of Sony Honda Mobility, a joint automotive venture between Sony Group and Honda Motors. The initial product is likely to start pre-orders in 2025 and is slated to deliver the first units in spring 2026.

Although this ability will not be commercialized with the vehicle but it was cool to watch it in action.

Afeela is a prototype of a four-door sedan that will reflect a lot of new AI capabilities and equip Qualcomm AI chipset.

The Afeela prototype 2024 has a 4,915mm length, 1,900mm width, 1,460mm height, and 3,000mm wheelbase. The EV has an all-wheel drive drivetrain with an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor. The front and rear motor has 180kW power.

The vehicle has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery of 91kWh and it supports 150kW of DC fast charger as well as 11kW AC charging.

It equips double-wishbone front suspension and rear suspension Multi-Link and also has air suspension. The front tire size is 245/40R21 and the rear tires are 275/35R21.
