BMW sold 45k EVs and 25k PHEVs in the U.S. in 2023
BMW has released its sales results for electric vehicles (EVs) and overall sales for Q4 2023 and throughout the past year in the U.S.
The automaker reported 14,374 sales of EVs in the fourth quarter of 2023 with a 65% year-over-year increase and 8,689 more EVs than Q4 2022.
Meanwhile, BMW registered 45,417 battery-electric vehicles, which accounts for 12.5% of all car sales in 2023.
Additionally, the German car company sold 25,318 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in 2023. This number led the overall electrified vehicles to 70,735 in the reported year accounting for 19.5% of the total sales.
For now, the company is operating with four full-battery electric vehicles in the U.S. including BMW i4, BMW i5, BMW i7, and BMW iX.
All Sales:
In Q4, BMW sales in the U.S. totaled 107,881 vehicles, a 6% increase from the 101,738 vehicles sold in the same quarter in 2022.
The yearly sales of the company increased by 9% to 362,224 vehicles compared to 332,377 vehicles sold in 2022. This is a new annual record for the BMW brand in the U.S.
Mini Brand:
BMW’s MINI brand sold 10,728 vehicles in Q4 of 2023 with 4% growth in comparison to 10,319 vehicles sold in Q4 of 2022. The range of sales in 2023 witnessed a 13.5% increase in sales compared to a year earlier.
