Toyota delivered 2.25 million vehicles in 2023 in the U.S. including 29% EVs

In its business result of 2023, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) shared that delivered around 2.25 million vehicles in the U.S. throughout the year including an increasing share of electric vehicles (EVs).

The overall sales, which is 2,248,477, is an increase of 6.6% on a volume basis and 7% on a daily selling rate basis as compared to 2022.

Meanwhile, the company posted a total sales of 619,661 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2023. It is an increase of 15.4 percent year-on-year.

The total December alone in the tally recorded 226,116 Toyota vehicle sales, an increase of 25.5% as compared to December 2022.

EVs:

Electric Vehicles, including the Lexus brand, accounted for 657,327 units in 2023 and represent a strong 29.2 percent of the overall vehicles.

Aside from this combined weight, Toyota sold 565,800 and Lexus 91,527 EV units in the past year.

Toyota named GR Corolla, Corolla Hybrid, Corolla Cross, Mirai, bZ4X, RAV4 Hybrid, Sequoia, and Tundra Hyrid as the 2023’s top sellers.

Lexus named Total LUVs, IS 500, NX Hybrid, NX Plug-in Hybrid, Total NX, and RX Hybrid under its 2023 top-selling portfolio.

2024:

Jack Hollis, executive vice president, of sales at TMNA said that his company is preparing for 2024 and plans to launch 22 new, refreshed, or special edition vehicles in showrooms. These include sedans and more electric vehicles for customers.

That’s not it, Toyota says it plans to launch a new electric option for all of its vehicles launching in the U.S. by 2025.
