Tesla posts 2023’s highest monthly China-made EV sales

Tesla sold 94,139 China-made electric vehicles (EVs) in December last year, it’s an increase of 68.7% year-on-year increase as compared to December 2022.

Data shared by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) shows that the EV maker has sold 14.2% of Model 3 and Model Y vehicles over November.

In Comparison, BYD registered about 341,045 passenger vehicles in December with a 45% year-on-year increase from Dec 2022.

The latest figure for Tesla set its highest-ever sales in the country only second to 100,291 units sold in November 2022. However, it’s the highest sales count throughout 2023.

Global sales:

Yesterday, Tesla shared details of its fourth-quarter sales, which account for 484,000 deliveries. With this number, the Model 3 and Y acquired about 461,537 units.

Throughout the year, Tesla reported a total of 1.81 million deliveries of its vehicles in the global market.

Data related to this matter shows that Tesla sold 947,742 China-made vehicles, which is an increase of about 33.32 percent from 710,865 units produced in 2022.

Meanwhile, the Tesla Shanghai factory could output production of 950,000 vehicles per year, it’s the largest in the world.
