EV maker Nio demos 1,000km range 150kWh battery
Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Nio has developed a new EV battery with a range of 1,000km which is a breakthrough in the EV industry.
Nio CEO, Willian Li streamed this new battery in a live demonstration between two Chinese cities from Shanghai to Xiamen in a 1,044km journey.
Li in an online post said that the Nio ET7 electric car could travel an entire 14-hour journey without a recharge including 1 000km trip but remain with a 3% battery.
Nio ET7 is an electric sedan, which expands at 5,101mm, 3,060mm, and 1,987mm in length, wheelbase, and width. This vehicle packs a 150kWh battery to power a CLTC range of over 1,000km.
Compared to this, the Tesla Model Y long-range comes with 75kWh and 82kWh battery capacities.
Despite its growing efforts in electric vehicle technology, Nio is still losing $12,000 on each car it produces.
