Space Rocket company Bule Origin is looking to buy United Launch Alliance (ULA), and private equity firm Cerberus has also shown interest in this buyout according to a new report.

Lockheed Martin and Boeing are the two equal owners of ULA and it was also contracted by Amazon to launch Kuiper satellites with upcoming missions.

ULA has been one of the top rocket launch contractors after it was surpassed by SpaceX, especially for government missions.

Meanwhile, ULA is also facing issues with its next-gen rocket, the Vulcan Centaur. This is a heavy cargo rocket that would compete against SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy but having hard luck finding a launch date.

So far, ULA has fired over 155 successful missions, which is already outnumbered by SpaceX’s 300 missions of which around 100 came in 2023 alone.

With its recognized face value, ULA was awarded with 11 military launches for 2025 and SpaceX settled for 10. The still-growing perspective of ULA makes it an eye-catching contender to attract Blue Origin.
