Tesla CEO, Elon Musk said that the company’s new offering, Tesla Cybertruck could turn into a water boat using a mod.

While writing on his social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, Musk revealed that Tesla could “offer a mod package that enables Cybertruck to traverse at least 100m of water as a boat”.

The Cybertruck is tall around 1.8 meters and weighs 6,603 lbs, therefore, floating this thing over a 100-meter water level would be interesting to watch.

However, the Tesla chief mentioned that this maneuver will require upgrades for “cabin door seals”. This will be the priority of the entire vehicle, so the water doesn’t trespass inside the vehicle.

Earlier this month, Tesla delivered the first set of Cybertruck electric trucks after four long years of the initial announcement. The truck comes in three versions – Cyberbeast, RWD, and AWD.

However, it’s not the first time Musk mentioned such capability for this electric pickup truck.

In September last year, Musk wrote “Cybrtruck will be waterproof enough to serve briefly as a boat, so it can cross rivers, lakes and even seas that aren’t too choppy”.

For now, there’s no information available on this boat mod for the Tesla Cybertruck but we’ll have to remain vigilant on this coming out in the open.
