iPhone 16 to bring a new video capture button separate from the action button
It seems like we’ll see another physical button on the next iPhone 16 to capture video. This button aims to further facilitate the use of camera features in iPhones.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone 16 models will come with an action button and a new dedicated button take capture video. This could be a major addition for the iPhones but the location is still not confirmed by the Apple insider.
Findings from Macrurmors suggest that the new button will be equipped on the right. If so, then it would replace the mmWave antenna in the models designed for US consumers.
However, the iPhone 16 would still require the company to relocate the mmWave antenna on the left side below the volume and action buttons. Other than that, a similar problem may not occur in models outside of the US.
The capture button will be a capacitive button with haptic feedback with a force sensor to recognize the pressure on interaction. The feature would trigger an instant video mode to capture the video right away.
However, the pressure sensor would make it multi-functional and could allow users to open different features such as photos or videos. Or it may adopt a long touch and short touch formula to provide these two functionalities respectively.
For now, there’s no announcement made from Apple’s side on this matter.
