Jeon Ha Gyu, A spokesperson for the South Korean Defense Ministry confirmed reports on Monday that the first military spy satellite will be launched from California’s Vandenberg Air Force Base on November 30.

Aside from this first satellite, SpaceX and the government of South Korea will partner to launch four more satellites by 2025. This information is confirmed by South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration.

For the time being, South Korea relies on US-based satellites to monitor its border and its adverse neighbor, North Korea. However, the country wants to move on its own and this satellite may be the stepping stone in the right direction.

On the other hand, SpaceX is continuously projecting its own Starlink satellite once every two days. Also, the rocket maker provides cost-effective rides to customers, which makes it easy to choose option.
